Horseback Riding

Both full day and partial day horseback trips are located just minutes from St. Mary where you can have your own ranch adventure where 'real cowboys don't ride single file.' Call our reservations department for information and to schedule your horseback adventure.

ATV Tours

ATV tours are now located on site with amazing views of the park and an incredible ride through diverse terrain, get fun for everyone!  No reservation is needed, please contact the concierge at check in for an appointment.

Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater rafting is located on the scenic Flathead River and features fun trips suitable for all ages and abilities. Full-day, half-day and group trips are available. Trips can be arranged through the front desk.

Scenic Boat Cruises

Cruises on St. Mary Lake launch from the docks at Rising Sun, just 6 miles from the Resort. Trips run throughout the day and we can also arrange special group cruises complete with catered food & drinks.

Guided & Self-Guided Fly Fishing

Catch the flash of a multi-colored trophy Rainbow darting through the crystal clear water of a mountain stream. Land a trophy size brown trout or sight cast to beautiful West slope cutthroat trout in one of the hundreds of area lakes. St. Mary is surrounded by world class fishing opportunities and front desk staff can help set-up a knowledgeable local guide to help you find them.
No license or permits are required to fish inside the boundaries of Glacier National Park. Fishermen need to stop at a Visitor Center or Ranger Station to obtain a current copy of park fishing regulations. Click here for additional information.

Hiking

Over 700 miles of trails maintained throughout Glacier National Park with terrain ranging from an easy stroll to the most challenging climb. St. Mary is conveniently located minutes from major trail heads on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, Two Medicine Valley, and Many Glacier Valley. The Park's visitor's center is located 1/2 mile away for additional information about trails, backcountry passes and camping.

Boating

Boating opportunities abound in Glacier National Park. Boat ramps are available on St. Mary and Two Medicine Lakes on the east side and on Bowman and McDonald Lakes on the west side of the park. White water canoeing, kayaking, or rafting can be enjoyed on the Flathead River. Boat rentals are available at Apgar, Lake McDonald Lodge, Many Glacier, and Two Medicine.Canoes or rafts can be carried to many smaller waters. For more information, click here.

Wildlife Viewing & Photography

The area around St. Mary is filled with wildlife including: mountain goats, bighorn sheep, elk, deer, moose, fox, coyotes, cougars, black bear, lynx and even grizzly bear. Keep extra film handy as you never know what you may see on your excursions in Glacier National Park. Trail and Creek outfitters has the latest information about where visitors are viewing various animals throughout the park.
